I-65 in Indiana closed after outsized load strikes overpass

Transportation officers in Indiana closed a portion of I-65 following a bridge strike in White County on Tuesday.

Indiana State Police-Lafayette District reported the bridge strike shortly after midday on Tuesday, March 14.

“I-65 southbound at US 231 (193 mile marker) is shut down because of a overside load that has struck the overpass,” troopers stated.

Indiana State Police didn’t present info on accidents.

In accordance with the Indiana Division of Transportation (INDOT), southbound I-65 visitors is being detoured down the off ramp and again onto the doorway ramp.

INDOT crews are en path to assess the injury to the bridge.
