Texas DPS says unsafe velocity led to fiery tanker crash that killed truck driver

Officers in Texas are investigating a tanker truck crash that claimed the lifetime of a truck driver in Cameron County on Monday night.

The crash occurred in Brownsville as a tanker driver hauling hazardous flammable materials was northbound on State Freeway 550.

The motive force misplaced management and struck a concrete barrier. The truck rolled over and caught fireplace, sending up enormous plumes of black smoke.

The truck driver died on the scene.

In accordance with the Texas Division of Public Security (DPS), the preliminary investigation signifies that the driving force was touring at an unsafe velocity when the crash occurred.

The crash stays underneath investigation.
