Trucker finds co-driver lifeless, not asleep, in bunk after pulling over for break

A truck driver died within the sleeper of his rig whereas his teammate drove on Thursday of this week. 

The incident occurred on Thursday, September seventh in Effingham, Illinois. 

Based on Effingham Radio, 62-year-old Richard Grubb instructed his co-driver he was not feeling properly as they departed from Kansas Metropolis at round 11 a.m. that morning, and went into the bunk to sleep. The co-driver drove till simply earlier than 4:20 p.m. and stopped at a Pilot Truck Cease in Effingham. The driving force then tried to wake Grubb however he was unresponsive, so he contacted 911. 

Officers arrived on the scene and located the truck east of the gas islands with Grubb deceased within the sleeper. Officers then contacted the coroner’s workplace who transported Grubb to the morgue. 

Grubb’s medical information have been requested, and his subsequent of kin have been notified. The loss of life is believed to have been from pure causes, however an investigation remains to be underway.
