50+ vehicles caught on improper facet of Ambassador bridge for investigation of “suspicious bundle”

Greater than 50 truckers have been caught on the improper facet of the Ambassador bridge on Sunday evening as police investigated a “suspicious bundle” discovered within a automobile. 

The incident occurred on Sunday evening at 9 p.m. on October 2nd on the Ambassador bridge between the US and Canada. 

In line with CTV Information, the bundle was discovered within a Canada-bound automobile and was investigated by Windsor Police Service’s Explosive Disposal Unit, who shut down Canada-bound site visitors on the bridge for an initially “undetermined period of time.”

Throughout the investigation, automotive site visitors was diverted to the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel, whereas vehicles have been  compelled to park and wait. 

“[Police] took all of the automobiles away and despatched them to the tunnel they usually made all of the vehicles park within the compound at [the] duty-free. There’s about 50-75 vehicles,” Todd Marciano, a trucker caught on the U.S. facet of the border, informed CTV Information.

“We’re type of tossing forwards and backwards the thought of staying [in Detroit overnight] or leaving to drive to Sarnia. My firm is questioning how they’re going to get the vehicles again as a result of they want them Monday morning,” Marciano stated. 

The bridge was reopened a number of hours later “after conducting a collection of precautionary assessments, the bundle was opened and located to comprise an digital scale, drug paraphernalia and suspected narcotics. The case has been turned over to the Canadian Border Companies Company for investigation,” stated police.
