Driver who left trailer at scene of NY bridge crash turns himself in

A trucker who left his broken trailer below the bridge it struck in New York finally turned himself in to authorities Wednesday, Dec. 14.

The crash occurred at about 4 a.m. within the westbound lanes of the Southern State Parkway in Lakeview, New York on Lengthy Island. The trailer struck the overpass close to Exit 18, Eagle Avenue. 

Tractor-trailers will not be allowed on the parkway.

The Lakeview Fireplace Division posted to its Fb web page that the motive force of the rig unhooked his 2009 Freightliner from the trailer and left the scene. Nonetheless, he later turned himself in to New York State Police. He was recognized as Jose De La Rosa-Martinez, 37 of the Bronx. He faces costs of leaving the scene of a private harm accident and second-degree reckless endangerment.

 The motive force of a 2007 Acura was injured when her car struck the rear of the caught trailer. She was taken to a close-by hospital with severe, however non-life-threatening accidents. A passenger within the Acura was additionally injured and transported to a different hospital.
