NTSB: Damaged rail brought on practice crash, bridge collapse that killed trucker

A damaged rail seems to have brought on the derailment of a freight practice that led to the collapse of a bridge that killed a truck driver in Colorado Sunday.

Investigators from the Nationwide Transportation Security Board made the announcement of its preliminary evaluation this morning. 

Interstate 25 close to Pueblo stays closed as particles can’t be cleared till the NTSB completes its investigation. Quite a few vehicles of the BNSF freight practice have been carrying coal once they derailed on a bridge over the interstate. The derailment brought on the bridge to break down on a tractor-trailer beneath it killing the driving force.

The Denver Publish studies the Pueblo County Coroner’s Workplace recognized the truck driver killed within the crash as Lafollette Henderson, 60, of Compton, California.

The derailed practice vehicles spilled tons of coal throughout the interstate.

The NTSB’s investigation might take a number of extra days, and the cleanup of the spilled coal and collapsed bridge might take a number of extra.

The incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
