Trucker dies in crash on I-5 close to Wednesday’s 60-vehicle pileup

Oregon State Police report a truck driver died in a collision with one other tractor-trailer close to the location of the 60-vehicle pileup on Interstate 5 Wednesday. 

The crash occurred at about 2:10 p.m. on I-5 close to mile marker 219. OSP mentioned a Freightliner was stopped within the gradual lane on account of an enormous pileup that occurred in heavy fog Wednesday morning. A second Freightliner was southbound when it collided with the stopped semi and caught fireplace.

The motive force of the second Freightliner was recognized by the police as Kirpal Singh, 63, of Yuba Metropolis, California. He was pronounced lifeless on the scene. No different accidents have been reported within the crash.

The unique collection of collisions occurred at about 8 a.m. Wednesday in heavy fog. OSP reported between 15 and 20 industrial motor automobiles have been concerned in that pileup. One individual, nonetheless unidentified, died in that mishap.
