$1.4 million in cocaine seized from huge rig at Bridge of the Americas
Officers with U.S. Customs and Border Safety Officers (CBP) not too long ago seized a considerable amount of cocaine from a semi truck at a Texas border crossing.
The drug seizure befell on October 6 on the Bridge of the Americas cargo facility in El Paso, Texas.
A Mexican nationwide behind the wheel of a semi truck approached the power and was referred for a secondary inspection.
CBP performed a non-intrusive (x-ray) inspection and found anomalies on the automobile. A canine unit alerted to the presence of contraband.
Officers bodily inspected the truck and located 52 bundles with a mixed weight of 128 kilos of cocaine.
The medication and semi truck have been seized by CBP.
No arrests have been “instantly” made, CBP stated in a information launch.
“It is a great amount of cocaine that’s not making it to its supposed vacation spot due to the vigilance of the CBP workforce,” stated CBP El Paso Port Director Ray Provencio.
