Man arrested for breaking into sleeping couple’s semi to “get away from everybody”

A Florida man was arrested on Monday after making an attempt to steal a semi truck whereas a pair was inside. 

The incident occurred on December fifth off of Beal Parkway in Okaloosa County, Florida. 

In response to ABC 3 Information, police have been known as when 30-year-old Edward Cawley compelled his approach right into a semi truck occupied by a person and his girlfriend. 

The victims later informed police that Cawley informed them he wanted the truck, after which started to attempt the fuel pedal. 

As soon as taken into custody, Cawley informed officers he wanted the semi truck to “get away from everybody.”

Cawley was arrested and booked into Okaloosa County Jail on Monday night time. He’s being held on $25,000 bond.
